Identikit

The FSC Identikit is one of the Biodiversity Projects initiated by the UK's Field Studies Council. Discussed in Dipterists Bulletin #87

To have a working system on your desktop and be in a position to collaborate, the only skills you need are the use of a text editor, skills in the use of a spreadsheet and success in setting up the Google Chrome Web Server (other desktop web servers are available.) Full instructions are at this link, download the FSC Identikit to get all the documentation.

The following multi-access online keys to European Micropezidae & Psilidae are currently being developed and it is hoped that they will eventually be linked to this site. If you wish to collaborate in their development then do contact me. A brief guide to setting up a desktop system can be downloaded here and the source files are below:

  • Micropezidae [download 7/5/2019]
  • Psilidae [download 7/5/2019]
  • Chamaepsila (very little progress with this one, it will require much collaboration, expertise and material)

Deploying the multi-access keys directly within this site would be desirable, the feasibility is currently being investigated.
