Abstract:

The first published records of the family Micropezidae (Diptera) from the Jizerské hory Mts and Frýdlant region are presented. The material was collected in 2002–2006 by means of combined flight traps, Malaise traps, yellow pan traps, and sweeping. Altogether five species of the family Micropezidae were found in the region, making up 42% of all representatives of the family presently known from the Czech Republic. The commonest species were Calobata petronella (6 localities) and Neria cibaria (5 localities). Species spectrum corresponds with data reported from other higher altitude sites in Central Europe. The number of species of the family Micropezidae recorded here is similar or slight- ly smaller than that found in other areas of a comparable size – Pálava Biosphere Reserve: 8 species (Roháček 1999), surroundings of Bílina and Duchcov: 8 species (Barták 2001), Podyjí
