SUMMARY
Identification: Generally shiny black. Thorax: Black with some slight yellowing on the humeri and the sides of the scutellum. Propleuron with long setae at the ventral margin (from Roháček who illustrates M. lateralis for this character) Head: Frons & occiput black. Yellow colouration near the eyes extends from the anterior part of the frons, down past the antennae and around the mouth opening in a thin band. Antennae: All segments yellow, arista white.
Legs: All coxae black with a yellowish tinge. All legs black except femorae. Hind femora yellow with three black rings: the first occupies the entire basal half, the second a broad ring at about 2/3rds the way along and an apical (or subapical) black ring.
Photographs: There are no images to be had of this species. Just the head and hind femur of a pinned specimen in Ozerov, 2008.
