General description:
Identification: Thorax: Entirely black.. Abdomen: Entirely black
Legs: Extensively black, hind femur yellow with two black rings (see Freidberg figures). Wing: Cell R5 is relatively broadly open.
Size: male 5-6 mmm, female 6-7 mm
Kemal & Kocak, 2015: This species is distinguishable from other relatives in the family by the black colouration of the body and most of the legs (Freidberg, 1984).

Europe: Countries (published), online at Fauna Europaea, Occurrences at GBIF
Habitat:
A West Asiatic species reaching its limit in Turkey. In Israel it was swept from herbaceous plants and from Juncus and Mentha near a spring. Koçak & Kemal have observed it in Eastern parts of Turkey and are currently looking for it elsewhere.
