Chamaepsila longipennis
Miguel Carles-Tolrá, 1998: Chaetotaxy: 2 ors (posterior pair broken, absent), 1 pvt, 2 vt, 1 of, 2 se (previous pair much shorter).
The coloration coincides with that of the exemplary type, except that the blackish brown band that goes from the humeral callus (included) to the base of the halterio also extends through the notopleura and above the humeral callus to the dorsocentral line.
Total length 4 mm; wing 4.4 mm.

Taxonomy:
Carles-Tolrá discusses identification problems and comments on the taxonomic position:
In 1996, the author captured a male specimen of the Psilidae family that, using the work of Henning (1941) and Seguy (1936), was identified as Chamaepsila (Tetrapsila) longipennis Seguy, 1936. However, in these works the entire of the cephalic chaetotaxia, which is necessary for its safe identification. Therefore, it was necessary to study the exemplary type of said species, provided by Dr. L. Matile (Parts), after which it was confirmed its correct identification.
However, following the later works of Shatalkin (1986, 1989), this He changed his taxonomic nomenclature to Psila (Pseudopsila) longipennis (Seguy, 1936). Psila longipennis was described based on an exemplary male and its distribution it was limited to the Azores Islands (Soos, 1984). Subsequently, Shatalkin (1989) considers Chyliza gracilis Loew, 1854, described from Turkey, as a synonym for P. longipennis. Therefore, the new captured specimen represents the first quotation of this species for the Iberian Peninsula.
