Corps noir. Macrochètes noirs. Pilosité brune assez longue. Tête d'un brun noir au-dessus des antennes. Antennes noires ; chète à pubescence fine. Fémurs noirs : genoux, tibias et tarses jaunes, dernier article brun. Balanciers d'un blanc jaunâtre. Ailes vitreuses : petite nervure transverse rapprochée de la base. — Long. : 5 mm.
Juin-août. — Somme : Amiens (Doublet) ; Hautes-Pyrénées : Tramesaigues, Gavarnie (Pandellé). — Prusse (Becker) : Kônigsberg (Czwalina). Arkhangel, juin (Frey).
Chandler, 1975: Psila nigra Fall, and P. atra Mg. are both locally frequent in marshy grasslands, but these small black species are usually collected by sweeping and the variety of vegetation in localities where I have collected them has precluded any useful observations on plant associations.
